ICC Barclaycard Arena, Birmingham

Date: April 2017

Location: ICC Barclaycard Arena, Birmingham.

Background: The ICC Barclaycard Arena, located in Birmingham, has hosted artists and performers from across the globe. Given the high-profile nature of the venue, perimeter security is essential.  Having established a solid working relationship with this long-standing customer, Townscape was approached to secure an additional area of the arena’s perimeter by implementing a PAS 68 accredited Hostile Vehicle Mitigation system.

Project details: After carrying out a Hostile Vehicle Mitigation assessment, Townscape installed a CT Wedge Blocker and a number of CT Blocks to secure the area. The project was managed with a ‘proportional approach’, meaning products were recommended based on their effectiveness in ensuring maximum security, whilst being cost-efficient.

Result: The project comprises a combination of carefully selected active and passive elements. The products ensure full integration into the design of the surrounding area, with hazard markings offering maximum visibility. The arena now has a fully functional, cost-efficient Hostile Vehicle Mitigation system installed, ensuring maximum protection.
