BS-EN-ISO 9001 certification

Townscape Products and its trading brand Concrete Barriers HQ have been awarded the BS-EN-ISO 9001 accreditation for Quality Management systems following a recent audit.

Not only does this accreditation certify that Concrete Barriers HQ vehicle defence products meet the requirements of the British Standards Institution, but it also recognises the professional manner in which we operate at our Nottinghamshire headquarters.

Our Quality Management System has been rewarded for attention to: motivation and implication of top management, the process approach, continual improvement and customer focus – demonstrated in our offering of perimeter security assessments to companies responsible for safeguarding public spaces across the UK.

As such, our specialist knowledge and dedication to manufacturing and selling quality vehicle defence products has now been recognised.

The need for quality management in hostile vehicle mitigation

It is impossible to ignore the global terror threat casting an air of uncertainty and anxiety over pop-up public events such as festivals and concerts, as well as high profile landmarks and city centre hotspots which attract a large footfall.

In light of the recent atrocities across Europe, it has never been more important for us here at Townscape to continue to develop our perimeter security solutions – particularly when it comes to hostile vehicle mitigation (HVM) – to ensure we stay one step ahead of the perpetrators.

Our primary vehicle prevention product – the Counter Terror (CT) block – is PAS 68 approved, meaning it can stop a 7.5 tonne vehicle travelling at 40mph with impressive efficiency. Not only does the CT block provide essential perimeter protection against Vehicle-Borne Improvised Explosive Devices (VBIED) as well as penetrative attacks, it allows the option to install seating. This provides another level of practicality and presents it as a more visually appealing product.

We also provide other PAS 68 approved perimeter security products that boast high levels of protection against these vehicle-borne attacks:

IOS 9001 accreditation

PAS 68 Bollards

Available both in static (passive) and operable (active) form, both are effective in guarding public buildings and highly populated areas. However, we recommend the use of passive bollards to safeguard against such attacks mentioned above, as active bollards increase the risk of human error.

PAS 68 Planter

A modification of our CT block, the timber exterior of the planter conceals the product’s concrete base, whilst enhancing the urban environment.

With such attention being put onto the security of our towns and cities worldwide, the spotlight really is on the quality and flexibility of the vehicle defence products we produce. This ISO accreditation can assure customers of our dedication and commitment to maintaining the highest of standards across all of our products and services.
